To help you communicate with your sponsors (sponsors and donors are the same people, and the terms are use interchangeably), you can send e-mails directly from your personal page.
Click on the "Send E-mails" tab on the top bar at the top of the page.
You can send e-mails two ways:
1. Use your own e-mail software, such as aol, hotmail, msn, your company e-mail, etc. Just remember to copy and paste the web address or URL of your personal page in your e-mail. The URL of your personal page is bolded and in pink in the middle of this page. It looks something like this: http://www.walkamerica.org/username. By directing them to your personal page, your sponsors can quickly and easily contribute online.
2. Send e-mails directly from this site. This is fast and easy and a great way to create your March of Dimes e-address book. Every address you type in will be saved to your address book, making it convenient to send e-mails anytime.
Using the March of Dimes E-Mailing Tool
Start by filling in names and e-mail addresses in Step #1. We have given you space for five e-mail addresses, if you need more, select an amount from the box and click the arrow key. The addresses you type in will be saved in your March of Dimes online address book.
You can send the message already in the message box or choose from two other general messages by clicking "View Samples" in Step #2. Read the three messages and simply click "Add" to insert the message you want.
You can also write a personal message by deleting the pink text and typing in your own message. If you are happy with your message, simply click the "Save this message as my default message" box. This message will be sent every time you send an e-mail.
Want to preview your e-mail before sending? Click the "Preview Only" button at the bottom. Ready to send? Click the "Send E-mails Now" button at the bottom.
After e-mails are sent out, they are automatically added to the "Potential Sponsors" list at the bottom of your Sponsor Form.

March of Dimes Online Address Book
All e-mail addresses are saved to your online address book. To get to your address book, click the "Address Book" tab on the top of the page or the highlighted "Click here to view it" in Step #1.
If you want to send an e-mail to someone already in your address book, click the "Send E-mail" box next to the name or click "Select All" to communicate with everyone in your book. Then click the "Compose E-mail" button.
Notice that the e-mail addresses you selected populate the boxes in Step #1. Follow the directions for sending e-mails above.
You can also manage your sponsors by clicking on their name in the address book.
New for WalkSeason 2006: "Follow ups" and "Thank You's"...
New this year is the ability for the walker to send "Follow up" and "Thank you" emails to their sponsor base. Both are accessible via your personal page, after clicking the "Send E-Mails" tab. The Follow-up email has, as it's intended target, people you have put into your address book who haven't yet contributed to your campaign. You have the option of sending them friendly reminders to contribute what they can. The Thank-you email, then, is for those people who've already donated to your cause and gives you a way to write a personal message of thanks for their consideration and contribution.
